Are you looking for a different kind of adventure for your child this summer? Look no further than Hill-Stead's Summer Nature & Arts Adventure 2011. Join us for a fun-filled summer experience that combines art, nature and history, utilizing Hill-Stead's world-renowned art collection and comprehensive estate.
Each week will focus on a theme (2012 themes to be determined)
Days are full of art- and nature-based activities. Participants will enjoy time in the museum, exploring the property with estate naturalist Diane Tucker, and trying their hands at studio art. Each week also features a guest speaker specializing in nature or art and a participant "showcase," where children show off what they have created during the program.
As of 2011, we accept children entering kindergarten in the fall. Children will be split into two groups: grades K–2 and grades 3–6, with a maximum group size of 15. All ages are eligible for any week. Each week is full of different activities, so children can attend multiple weeks and be equally engaged. Register for 2 or 3 weeks and your child can design his or her own program t-shirt to take home!Call 860.677.4787 ext 142 for registration and information. Pre-registration is required.
