Are you looking for a different kind of adventure for your child this summer? Look no further than Hill-Stead's Summer Nature & Arts Adventure 2010. Join us for a fun-filled summer experience that combines art, nature, history, and culture utilizing Hill-Stead's world-renowned art collection and grounds.
Each week will focus on a theme:
- July 12–16: Art & Nature— Take nature hikes, make solar prints, paint en plein air
- July 19–23: From Portraits to Landscapes— View the Pope family's collection of Impressionist paintings, try watercolor paintings and pastels
- July 26–30: The Art of the Farm— Visit the estate's barns, meet farm animals, and make butter
Days are full of art- and nature-based activities. Participants will enjoy time in the museum, exploring the property, and trying their hands at studio art. Each week also features a guest speaker specializing in nature, art or animals.
All ages are eligible for any week. Children will be split into two groups: grades 1–3 and grades 4–6 with a maximum group size of 15. Because each week has a different theme, children can attend multiple weeks and be equally engaged.
