Benefit & Member Events

Activities and programs at Hill-Stead reflect the museum’s founding idea—to be a welcoming place for learning, enjoyment and reflection. Visitors of all ages participate in indoor-outdoor festivals—Hay Day in October, Wreath Ramble in November and May Market in spring. Lectures and gallery talks attract arts-and-heritage lovers, gardeners and landscape aficionados. Poetry at Hill-Stead translates into a summer festival, workshops and competitions for teenagers and adults. In conjunction with Adventures, Inc., Hill-Stead offers exceptional opportunities for travel.

Experience First Sundays—see your favorite collection pieces in a whole new way. The first Sunday of every month, tour at your own pace from 12 pm to closing, with interpreters stationed throughout the period rooms to answer your questions. At 1 pm, enjoy a gallery talk on subjects ranging from architecture to Wedgwood. May –October, guided estate walks are offered at 2 pm.
