Visitors touring the interiors of Hill-Stead see Alfred Atmore Pope’s
prized collection of French Impressionist paintings and much more—sculpture,
prints, ceramics, textiles and furnishings.

For an exclusive selection of the highest quality reproductions of Hill-Stead's prints and paintings, visit 1000|Museums. Check often for new additions!
The museum’s archives include diaries, household and business documents,
and receipts for the purchase of artwork. Correspondence from Mary Cassatt, Henry
James and James McNeill Whistler is among 13,000 letters and postcards. Among
approximately 2,500 photographs dating from 1885 to 1946 are six of Gertrude
Käsebier’s “art” photographs and a dozen other images
she took of Pope family members. Hill-Stead’s archives are open to researchers
by appointment.
