Open Tuesday-Sunday. Closed Mondays and major holidays.
May-October: 10 am-5 pm
November-April: 11 am-4 pm
Last tour of the day begins one hour before closing.
The first Sunday of every month, tour the collection at your own pace from 12 pm until closing, with interpreters in every room to answer questions. At 1 pm, enjoy a gallery talk. June–October, join a guided estate walk at 2 pm.
Optional 1.5 hour house-and-garden tour available weekends, May-October.

Driving Directions
Two hours from New York City and Boston, 10 minutes
from Hartford.
By car
Take Exit 39, I-84 East or West. Follow Route 4 West. Turn left
onto Route 10 South. At first traffic light, turn left onto
Mountain Road. Museum entrance is 1/4 mile up the hill on the
left.
By chartered
bus Group reservations are required in advance.
Take Exit 39, I-84 East or West. Follow Route 4 West. Continue
past the sign for “Bus Entrance” on the left. Do
not make a left turn onto the property. Turn around in an appropriate
area,
return, and make a right turn onto the property.

Accessibility
Hill-Stead offers designated parking and wheel chair accessibility
to the first floor of the Pope Riddle House, Museum Shop, Orientation
