Hill-Stead Student Poetry Outreach

Since 2000, Hill-Stead Museum has provided a series of workshops by dynamic professional poets  for students in Hartford public high schools. The program introduces kids to poetry and teaches them how to write and perform poetry as a means to better understand themselves and the world around them. Each spring, the students visit Hill-Stead where they tour the house and write poetry in response to Hill-Stead’s impressive art collection and beautiful natural surroundings.

Funding for Hill-Stead Student Poetry Outreach provided in part by Ensworth Charitable Foundation, Ellen Jeanne Goldfarb Memorial Charitable Trust, and the George A. and Grace L. Long Foundation.
