The Art Of Shearing- A Sheep to Shawl Festival

REGISTER

An Interactive Celebration and Demonstration of All Things Fiber!

While our sheep are being shorn, Hill-Stead Museum will welcome fiber artists and vendors demonstrating skirting, carding, spinning, weaving, knitting, crocheting, felting; storytelling; and more. There will be free hayrides to and from the barns, food vendors, and craft activities.

Learn what it takes to create something “from sheep to shawl.” It’s a celebration—Join us!

10 am to 4 pm    Exhibitors, Demonstrations, Hay Rides to and from the Barn, Yarn Craft Activities
11 am    Tale-Spinning and Storytelling with Liz Gruber
11:30 am    Parading of the Fleece—Join us in walking the fleece from the barn to the house!
12 pm    A Bee in her Bonnet—A tale of how the spinning wheel became a symbol of patriotic fervor in Colonial America, presented by historian Linda Pagliuco
1 pm    Tale-Spinning and Storytelling with Liz Gruber
1:30 pm    Parading of the Fleece—Join us in walking the fleece from the barn to the house!

I Know a Guy Food Truck and Coffeeology will be onsite between 10 am and 3 pm.
