First Sundays for Families
Join us on the first Sunday of every month, from 1 to 4 pm, for Hill-Stead Museum’s Open House. Tour the collections at your own pace with Museum Guides stationed throughout the period rooms to answer your questions.
Lectures and Gallery Talks
Hill-Stead Museum invites you to learn with us, during lectures and informal gallery talks on wide-ranging subjects such as individual paintings or artists, women and architecture, servant life, and more.
In Hill-Stead’s new sketching series enjoy a unique drawing experience, using the collection and beautiful interiors of the museum as the muse, and a still-life arrangements set within different areas of the historic house.
First Sunday Estate Walks
Guided walks of the grounds are held at 2 p.m. the first Sunday of each month, May through October.
Do you want to know more about the decorative arts at Hill-Stead?
Hill-Stead’s Decorative Arts Study Group is a members-based group that was formed to focus on the museum’s many extraordinary examples of what are often called the “minor arts” – furniture, textiles, ivory, metalwork and the host of other items that today might fall under the description “interior decoration.”
