Kids and families will find many ways to explore Hill-Stead through hands-on activities and celebrations.

  • Explore Hill-Stead

    Hscavengerill-Stead has a new Scavenger Hunt, designed especially for our young visitors. With laminated images and a checklist, children will look carefully to find some very fun things in the museum. Return the completed list to the Museum Shop to collect a prize.

    When you visit the museum in the warmer months, come to the Education Station in the former Carriage Barn for seasonal crafts and activities for all ages. From coloring pages to watercolor kits, there is something for everyone. Supplies are limited.

  • First Sundays for Families

    Oa Hill stead Museum 6-2015n the first Sunday of every month, families are invited to Hill-Stead! Children’s art projects begin at 1 pm and self-guided tours run from 1 to 4 pm.  Browse the collection at your own pace and engage in the ever-popular scavenger hunt challenge.  Romp in Hill-Stead’s own natural playground of hiking trails, gardens and walking paths.

  • Story Time @Theo’s

    Story time MarchIntroduce your child to stories related to art, museums, nature, and much more.  Each session includes music, movement and an art project to take home—all in Hill-Stead’s historic setting. Afterward, romp around Hill-Stead’s natural playground of walking trails, gardens and sheep farm.  Recommended for children ages 2 to 4 and their caregivers.  Story Time takes place on the last Wednesday of every month.
