100th Anniversary of the Sinking of the RMS Lusitania

Thursday, May 7, marked the 100th anniversary of the sinking of The RMS Lusitania.  Our museum’s founder, Theodate Pope was among the survivors of the tragedy.  In observance of the Lusitania Centenary, Hill-Stead Museum presented a day-long social media event, during which time we revealed portions of the letter Theodate wrote to her mother recounting the chronology of her survival.  Brad Davis from WDRC AM The Talk of CT, interviewed Lisa Lappe, PR and Marketing Manager, and Melanie Bourbeau, Curator, on May 6.  Here is the audio from their live broadcast:
