Celebrate CT Trails Day at Hill-Stead
This year’s CT Trails Day at Hill-Stead Museum will be…Every Day!
Due to the COVID-19 public health crisis, the official event is canceled since we will not be able to gather for group hikes safely.
However, Hill-Stead stands with CT Forest & Parks Association and invites you to celebrate our beloved trails throughout the season! All hikes are self-guided with ample room to roam. As we work together to reduce the spread of Coronavirus, please adhere to proper social distancing measures as outlined here.
Hill-Stead Museum’s expansive 152-acre property includes trails with hilltop views, magnificent meadows, and a formal Beatrix Farrand-designed Sunken Garden. Discover the charms of the 1901 estate and its farm complex surrounded by centuries-old woodland trails.
Our grounds and garden are open every day from 7:30 a.m. to sunset for all to enjoy. Bring a friend or come alone to walk, hike, or sit in the Sunken Garden and listen to the melodic sounds of nature.
Free to all
In May, June, July, August, September and October guided estate walks of the grounds are held at 2 pm on the first Sunday of the month.
For a list of additional dates, please see First Sunday Estate Walks.
