Hill-Stead Museum welcomes student and adult interns, as needs arise, in its administrative, buildings and grounds, curatorial, development, education, and public programming areas as well as for our Sunken Garden Poetry Festival.

There are no internship opportunities at this time.

Hill-Stead Museum is currently searching for a new full-time (30 hr/wk, Sunday-Thursday) Public Program Coordinator and Lead Interpreter. Under the general direction of the Director of Community Engagement and the Curator and Director of Interpretation, the Public Program Coordinator and Lead Interpreter is responsible for scheduling and logistics support of student and adult group tours and supporting all aspects of Hill-Stead Museum’s (HSM’s) educational offerings. S/he will utilize HSM’s educational curriculum to lead student groups, and provide support for educational programs and community events, both on and off-site. S/he will also serve as a front-line ambassador for the Museum to provide engaging tours and programs for visitors of all ages and will assist with the training and management of HSM’s volunteer Museum Guides. This position is responsible for learning, understanding and presenting a range of interpretive content focused on HSM’s collections and will periodically assist the Curator and Director of Interpretation with special research projects. The position requires the ability to work with diverse groups of people and work efficiently with HSM staff and volunteers within a donor-centered culture of philanthropy to provide an exceptional visitor experience.
