Hill-Stead’s volunteer groups include:

Museum Guides

Following formal, in-depth training, our volunteer Guides become qualified to lead daily tours of Hill-Stead’s historic home and collection. Guides play an integral and valued role in museum operations.

The Garden Gang

Garden lovers meet weekly from 9 am to noon, April through October, to maintain the historic Hill-Stead’s gardens, including the historic Sunken Garden, working under the direction of garden manager Paula Brisco. The breathtaking results achieved by this hard-working group speak to their skill and dedication.

The Hill-Steaders

This corps of active volunteers supports the museum with critical fundraising initiatives and benefit events.

Sunken Garden Poetry Festival

The SGPF office welcomes volunteers interested in preparing for or working at, Festival nights throughout the summer. Distribute signs, hand out programs, support publicity efforts, help direct traffic, and more.

Collections/Archives, Development, and Public Relations

Hill-Stead Staff welcomes volunteers to share their skills in the office.
